Paul Ormand began working in the computer/IT industry in 1988 after graduating with an AAS in Computer Programming. In those days, the IT needs always fell under the authority of the Accounting Department so he began working as a non-degreed accountant controlling several different business before finding his way into the Great Pains (now Dynamics GP) market leading up to Y2K. In April of 1998, he gained his first certification with Great Plains and began helping customers prepare for the inevitable Y2K date issue. He was successful in deploying that solution in more than a dozen sites before December of 1999.
In December of 1999, he was hired as one of the first 10 consultants for WennSoft where he was responsible for implementing the WennSoft solution in conjunction with Great Plains. Since WennSoft was a young company, Paul was part of the team of consultants who developed an implementation methodology and key internal processes to help make project management and reporting easier to deliver. The Dynamics GP space know it as Sure Step.
He continued to serve as one of the most senior consultants with WennSoft until March of 2021 where, after 21 years with the company, he decided to strike out on his own and form Square 1 Consulting.
Paul continues to pursue his passion of the highest level of customer service for his customers offering unique services to companies of any scale.
